Ductless Mini-Split Systems for Lakes Region Homes
Sticky August nights with the windows open. Frigid January dawns with steam curling from your breath. Mini-splits give you room-by-room control of both, without the messy, expensive work of installing ductwork.

comfort without ductwork
A Flexible Answer for Lakes Region Homes That Were Never Built for Ducts
While traditional central air is common, many local properties need something more flexible, from historic Victorian homes in Laconia to seasonal cottages on Lake Winnipesaukee. Ductless mini-splits have changed how homeowners here handle climate control.
As a premier Mitsubishi Diamond Contractor, we bring a high level of precision to every job. Under the leadership of Steve and Kara Olson, our team has mastered systems that are as quiet and efficient as they are effective.

why ductless works here
Built for Oppressive Summer Humidity and Sub-Zero Winter Freezes
Window units are loud, they block your view of the lake, and they waste a great deal of energy. Last summer we replaced three rattling window ACs in a lakeside ranch with a single ductless mini-split. The homeowners noticed quieter operation and lower bills right away — and their living room opened back up to a full view of Lake Winnipesaukee.
Comfort
Central air cools the whole house to a single thermostat setting. Mini-splits let you control each room on its own — only the bedrooms at night, only the sunroom during the day.
Efficiency
Ducted systems can lose up to 30 percent of their energy through leaks or poor attic insulation. Nearly a third of the air you pay for never reaches your living space.
Preservation
For older homes in Laconia and Meredith, we deliver modern comfort without tearing into plaster walls or dropping ceilings to hide bulky ducts.

smart home integration
Your Comfort System Should Work for You
Your smartphone can tell the system when you are five miles from home, so your Laconia cottage starts cooling and is perfect the moment you walk in the door. Some models go further and read the room itself.
cleaner air, built in
In a Tightly Built Home, Indoor Air Can Be Dirtier Than the Air Outside
That is the reality in many newer homes around Gilford and Belmont. A ductless system does not just move air; it cleans it on every pass, with filtration built directly into the indoor unit.
Keeping that filtration working is simple, too. A Freeze Wash function frosts the indoor coil at the touch of a button, then melts the dirt and dust away.

frequently asked questions
Mini-Split Questions From Lakes Region Homeowners
How much does a ductless mini-split installation cost in Laconia?
A single room typically ranges from $5,000 to $8,000, and a whole-home system from $12,000 to $25,000, depending on the efficiency of the unit and the complexity of the installation. We also offer flexible financing and payment plans for qualified homeowners, so you can choose a schedule that fits your budget.
Are there rebates available for mini-splits in New Hampshire?
Yes, through NHSaves. A qualifying ductless heat pump earns $250 per ton, and homes replacing permanent electric resistance heat can qualify for $2,000 per ton with pre-verification beforehand. Note that the federal tax credits many homeowners remember, Sections 25C and 25D, expired on December 31, 2025 and no longer apply. One thing worth asking any contractor: equipment using R-410A refrigerant was removed from the NHSaves qualified list in 2026 and earns no rebate at all. Rebates are administered by NHSaves and its utility partners, so qualifying and applying is the homeowner’s responsibility, but we are happy to point you to the current program details.
How long do ductless mini-split systems last?
With professional maintenance, a high-quality Mitsubishi system can last 15 to 20 years. Regular tune-ups are also what keeps your 10-year manufacturer’s warranty valid.
Can a mini-split heat my whole house in the winter?
Yes. These systems are designed for the Northeast climate and deliver full heating power even in sub-zero weather, which makes them a reliable primary heat source rather than a supplement.
